Talk: Blue Phoenix 500 - an Engineer’s dilemma

A sequel to the talk of a few years ago about Donald Campbell’s Bluebird K7, this time relating to the conflicting criteria affecting the design of a new craft capable of speeds well in excess of the current record of 317 mph and where this time air density compression becomes a consideration. New solutions are proposed using engineering knowledge not available to Norris Brothers in 1950 when K7 was designed.
