Visit: Bowers and Wilkins Loudspeakers Ltd. There will be a limit of 20 for this visit. Bowers and Wilkins is now an international company manufacturing a wide range of extremely high quality loud speakers, but was originally a small electrical retailer in Worthing. Following an introductory talk there will be a guided tour which will emphasise the sophisticated construction materials, as well as the bespoke machinery and the lean production in use. This should prove to be an interesting visit, loudspeaker technology having advance so far in the last few years that the more sophisticated versions manufactured these days have little resemblance to the original electrical coil driven devices we are so used to.
