Talk: Constructing the New Atlantic Steam Locomotive - The Engineering Challenges

This illustrated talk covers the background and latest progress on the reconstruction of the LBSCR designed Atlantic Class H2 steam locomotive 'Beachy Head' at the Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park, including innovative solutions to problems, such as lack of forging expertise in the UK, by the use of modern water-jet cutting techniques. The use of CAD drawings developed from the original 1910 originals will also be outlined.
