Working for IOM3, the professional body for scientists and engineers covering the entire materials cycle ( from cradle to cradle and all points in between) the talk from David will be a personal take on all things metals and materials. A historical look back and recent developments, where the challenges and opportunities lie, and personal recollections of 40+ years as a metallurgist ( remember what one of those are for example)? What does the future hold for the UK metals and materials industry? This talk whilst calling on years involved with IOM3 as a staff member, but also a member for 40 years is very much the personal view of David.
